WWE 2K25 DLC Pack Rankings: Why the New Wave Pack Beats Everything

WWE 2K25 DLC Pack Rankings: Why the New Wave Pack Beats Everything

Honestly, ranking these things is always a headache because everyone wants something different. Some people just want the legends they grew up with, while others are obsessed with getting the newest NXT stars before they even hit the main roster. With the WWE 2K25 DLC pack rankings, the community has been divided since the first roadmap dropped. 2K really swung for the fences this year by bringing in people from other promotions and even some random NBA stars. It's weird. It's bold. Some of it kinda fails, but when it hits, it hits hard.

I've spent way too much time testing every single move set and entrance. If you're looking to spend your money wisely, you've gotta know which packs actually add value to your Universe Mode and which ones are just filler.

1. The New Wave Pack (May 2024)

This is the gold standard. Period. Most of the time, the first pack is a bit of a letdown, but the New Wave Pack basically saved the game's longevity early on.

Why? Because of the Motor City Machine Guns. Getting Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin with their full tag team entrance and the "Skull & Bones" finisher is worth the price of admission alone. It’s not just them, though. You get Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer. These two have been tearing it up in NXT, and having them in the game so soon felt like a massive win for the fans who actually follow the weekly product.

There was that weirdness with the "special celebrity guest" who ended up being El Grande Americano instead of a real person, but even with that hiccup, the technical quality of the moves is insane. You get over 40 new animations, including Giulia’s Northern Lights Bomb. It feels fresh.

2. Fearless Pack (July 2024)

This pack is pure chaos in the best way possible. If you’re a fan of the "Forbidden Door" era, this is your jam. Penta (yes, Penta!) and Jordynne Grace are the highlights here. Seeing Penta in a WWE game feels surreal, like a fever dream that actually came true.

Then you have the legends. New Jack and Bull Nakano.
New Jack is a controversial pick, obviously. But for those of us who want to turn a No DQ match into an absolute disaster in the best way, he’s perfect.
Bull Nakano is a masterpiece of character modeling. Her face paint and hair look better than half the current roster.

  • Penta: Extreme charisma, great for MyFACTION.
  • Jordynne Grace: Absolute powerhouse, fits perfectly in the NXT women's division.
  • KSI: He’s the celebrity guest here. Love him or hate him, his PRIME bottle entrance is hilarious.

3. Attitude Era Superstars Pack (September 2024)

This is for the "back in my day" crowd. It’s solid, but it feels like stuff we should’ve had at launch. Getting the New Age Outlaws (Billy Gunn and Road Dogg) back is great for DX reunions, but the ratings caused a lot of drama on Reddit. Road Dogg being rated higher than Billy Gunn? That’s just 2K being 2K.

Mark Henry is the "Hall of Pain" version, which is 90 overall. He’s a tank. D'Lo Brown and Victoria round it out. Victoria’s Widow's Peak is still one of the best-looking moves in the entire game. It's a "safe" pack. You know what you're getting.

4. Farewell Tour Pack (October 2024)

Okay, this one is technically not in the Season Pass, which is kinda annoying. You have to pay an extra $14.99 or buy the Farewell Edition. But it has Brock Lesnar.

Since Brock was missing from the base game, this was the only way to get him. It also features the retirement versions of John Cena, including a "Doctor of Thuganomics" throwback and a weird "Ron Cena" alter-ego for R-Truth. If you're a Cena completionist, you need it. If you're just a casual player, it might feel like a bit of a cash grab.

5. Dunk & Destruction Pack (June 2024)

This is where things get polarizing. On one hand, you have Abyss. He has never been in a WWE game before, and seeing him go up against Mick Foley is the stuff of legend. On the other hand, we have the NBA players.

Shaquille O'Neal, Tyrese Haliburton, and Jalen Brunson.

Look, Shaq has history with WWE, so that’s fine. But having three spots in a DLC pack taken up by basketball players feels like a waste when we’re still missing guys like Oba Femi or more NXT stars. The "Destruction" part of the pack (Abyss and Great Khali) is cool, but the "Dunk" part feels like marketing fluff.

6. Saturday Night's Main Event Pack (November 2024)

The final pack of the season. It's very niche. Unless you are a die-hard fan of 80s wrestling, you might find this one a bit dry.

  • Jesse "The Body" Ventura
  • Sid Justice
  • Tito Santana
  • Junkyard Dog
  • Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff

The models are great, and Sid Justice is actually a blast to play as. He’s huge and carries that "Psycho Sid" energy. But compared to the "New Wave" or "Fearless" packs, it just doesn't have that same "must-have" spark for the modern player.

What to buy first?

If you aren't getting the Season Pass, buy the New Wave Pack first. It gives you the best mix of technical wrestling and high-profile debuts. If you’re more into the hardcore/indie scene, go for the Fearless Pack.

Don't forget that some characters like Goldberg and Nikki Bella were added through "The Island" expansion, which requires a bunch of VC. It’s a grind, but they aren't part of these standard packs.

If you're looking to maximize your roster, focus on the packs that add unique move sets. The MCMG and Giulia bring animations that you just can't find anywhere else in the base game.

Next Steps:
Go into the "New Moves" section of the Creation Suite after downloading the New Wave Pack. You'll find a massive amount of "hidden" animations that aren't assigned to the DLC characters by default but are clearly meant for them or other stars. It’s the best way to freshen up your custom superstars without spending hours tweaking every single setting.
