This is one of those moments where the stakes in Pokemon Y start to feel a little more "real." You find Team Flare Aliana—one of the scientists—trying to steal the Abomasnow’s energy.

Once you clear them out, the Abomasnow gives you an Abomasite. This is huge. Mega Abomasnow is a beast in the mid-to-late game of Pokemon Y. It’s slow, sure, but the Snow Warning ability changes the entire weather dynamic of a battle. If you’re running a hail team, this cavern is essentially your headquarters.
Secrets and Subtleties Most Players Miss
There’s a hiker near the entrance who talks about a "chilling presence." A lot of people think it’s just flavor text. It’s not. It’s a hint toward the legendary vibes the cavern is supposed to give off. While there isn't a legendary Pokemon inside the Frost Cavern (that’s saved for the Sea Spirit's Den or Terminus Cave), the atmosphere is heavy.
