You’ve seen the "Welcome to Wellsbury" sign. You’ve probably also Googled the real estate prices in that fictional Massachusetts town because, honestly, those colonial houses are a dream. But if you’re planning a road trip to the actual Wellsbury, I have some news that might hurt: it doesn’t exist.
Well, it doesn't exist in Massachusetts, anyway.
While Ginny and Georgia is set in the wealthy suburbs of New England, the production didn't spend a dime on American soil. Instead, the crew headed north. Almost every shot of those charming brick streets and sprawling lawns was captured in Ontario, Canada.
The Real Wellsbury: Cobourg, Ontario
Most of the outdoor magic happens in a lakeside town called Cobourg. It’s about 90 minutes east of Toronto and, fun fact, it’s been winning awards for being one of Canada’s best places to live long before Netflix arrived.
When the show films, the town undergoes a literal transformation. The production team swaps out Canadian flags for the Stars and Stripes and replaces local mailboxes with U.S. versions. Even the street signs get a makeover.

The Blue Farm Cafe
Joe’s farm-to-table cafe is arguably the soul of the show. In real life, it’s a gastropub called The El (formerly El Camino), located at 74 King Street West. If you go there today, you won’t find Joe behind the counter, but you can grab a burger and sit right where the MANG crew has their high-drama coffee sessions.
Wellsbury Town Hall
That massive, historic building where Georgia schemes her way into a job is actually Victoria Hall. Built in 1860, it’s a Cobourg landmark that houses a concert hall and an art gallery. In the show, it’s the backdrop for everything from political rallies to that iconic Halloween festival.
Where is the Miller House Located?
If you want to see the Miller family's 1928 Colonial Revival home, you’ll have to drive into Toronto. Specifically, the neighborhood is called Baby Point, an exclusive pocket near the Humber River.
The house is located at 46 Baby Point Crescent.

Across the street at number 45 is the Tudor-style English cottage where Marcus and Maxine live. It’s pretty wild how close they actually are in real life—literally just a few steps away. Since these are private residences, fans usually just snap a quick photo from the sidewalk. Please don't be that person who walks up onto the porch; people actually live there and have to deal with Netflix fans on their lawn every weekend.
Wellsbury High School and Other Key Spots
The school scenes aren't filmed in a working high school. That would be a logistical nightmare for a filming schedule. Instead, they use the Nelson A. Boylen Collegiate Institute in North York. The school actually closed down in 2016, making it the perfect "ghost" set for a TV production to take over without worrying about bells ringing mid-scene.
- The Park and Bandshell: The snowy park scenes and the mayoral election party (the one with the real fireworks) were filmed at Victoria Park Bandshell in Cobourg. It was built in 1934 by unemployed men during the Depression and is a huge part of the local history.
- Audrey’s In Town Fashion: Remember Georgia’s credit card getting declined in the first episode? That shop is a real boutique in Cobourg called Audrey’s In Town Fashion. They actually kept the real name for the show, which is a rare move for a production like this.
- Zion’s Motorcycle Bridge: When Ginny’s dad, Zion, rolls into town on his bike, he crosses the Old Mill Bridge in Etienne Brule Park. It’s a stunning stone arch bridge that’s been around since 1928.
Why Canada?
It basically comes down to the "Tax Credit" game. Ontario offers massive incentives for film productions, which is why half of "New York" or "New England" in modern TV is actually just Toronto or Hamilton.
But for Ginny and Georgia, it wasn't just about the money. The show’s creator, Sarah Lampert, grew up in Newton, Massachusetts. She wanted that specific "woke but problematic" suburban vibe. Cobourg has that exact architecture—the 19th-century brickwork, the wide sidewalks, and the sense of a town that is just a little too perfect.

How to Visit the Set Yourself
If you’re a die-hard fan, you can actually do a self-guided walking tour. The Town of Cobourg is fully leaning into the fame; they even have a section on their "Experience Cobourg" website dedicated to the filming spots.
- Start at Victoria Hall: This is the center of the "Wellsbury" universe.
- Walk King Street: This is where you'll find the exterior for the Blue Farm Cafe and Audrey's.
- Check the schedule: The show is currently filming Season 4 through early 2026. If you time it right, you might actually see the production trucks and the fake American flags lining the streets.
Just keep in mind that interior scenes—like the inside of Georgia’s kitchen or the mayor’s office—are filmed on soundstages at TriBro Studios in Toronto. You can't tour those, but standing on the corner of King Street in Cobourg is about as close as you’ll get to being a resident of the 01985.
To truly experience the "Wellsbury vibe," try visiting in the fall. The foliage in Ontario matches the New England aesthetic perfectly, and that’s when the town feels most like the show. Grab a coffee at one of the local spots near The El and just walk the downtown strip; it’s basically like walking through a Netflix set.
