People think she retired because the hits stopped. That's not really how it went down. After her father, William Armstrong, passed away, Dido struggled with the idea of performing the deeply personal songs from her 2008 album Safe Trip Home.
She essentially took a 15-year break from touring. 15 years! That’s a lifetime in pop music. Most artists would be terrified of being forgotten, but Dido told The Telegraph a few years back that she simply didn't plan the hiatus—it just happened.
