UFC 5 trophy guide: Why this platinum is actually easier than you think

Look, let’s be real for a second. Most sports game platinums are an absolute nightmare. They usually require 200 hours of grinding some trading card mode or hitting a hole-in-one with a 1% success rate. But honestly, the UFC 5 trophy guide is a different beast entirely. It’s snappy. It’s violent. And if you know what you’re doing, you can wrap the whole thing up in about 15 hours.

I’ve seen people on Reddit crying about the online trophies, but compared to the old days of UFC 2 or 3, this is a walk in the park. You don’t need to be a top-100 player in the world to get this done. You basically just need a solid ground game and the patience to wait for a "Fight Week" event.

The career mode grind (or lack thereof)

Most of your time is going to be spent in Career Mode. To get the big one, The Best There Ever Will Be, you need to become the G.O.A.T. This sounds daunting, but it’s mostly just a checklist. You need to break records for things like most finishes, most consecutive wins, and high performance bonuses.

Here is the secret: play on Easy.

There is zero shame in it. The game doesn't gate any trophies behind difficulty settings. If you play on Easy, you can finish almost every fight in the first minute with a simple takedown and ground-and-pound. This saves your "longevity" bar, which is the ticking clock on your career. If you take too much damage, you retire early. If you retire before hitting those G.O.A.T. milestones, you’ve gotta start all over.

Don't forget to prestige a move. This is for the The Best There Was trophy. Basically, keep using the same kick or punch until it levels up to 5 stars, then keep using it until the prestige pops. It’s easier to do this early on when the sparring partners aren't trying to take your head off.

Dealing with the online hurdles

Okay, let’s talk about the scary stuff. The online trophies.

Pound for Pound is the one that usually stops people. You have to prestige a fighter in Online Career. This means you need to earn 1,000 Evolution Points by fighting other humans. It sounds like a lot, but you get points even if you lose. It’s just a time investment. If you’re struggling to win, focus on a "wrestler" build. Most casual players online just want to stand and bang; they have no idea how to defend a clinch or a transition. Abuse that.

Then there’s Blitz Battler. You need to reach Round 3 in a Blitz Battle. The trick here is to wait for the right "mode." Blitz Battle rules change every 24 hours. Sometimes it's "Minute to Win It" (1-minute rounds), other times it's "Knockout Mode." If you’re bad at grappling, wait for a striking-only day. If you’re good at submissions, wait for a day where grappling is allowed. You only need two wins in a row to reach Round 3. You don’t even have to win the third fight.

The Fight Week "missables"

This is where people get tripped up. There are a few trophies tied to the "Fight Week" live service. Because these are linked to real-world UFC events, you can’t always do them whenever you want.

  1. What Could Go Wrong?: You just have to make "picks" for upcoming real-world fights.
  2. Easy Work: This requires you to complete all challenges in a Fight Week.

If there isn't a UFC pay-per-view happening in real life, these modes might be locked. It’s not "missable" in the sense that they're gone forever, but you might have to wait two or three weeks for the next event to cycle in. Don't leave these for last or you'll be sitting around with 97% completion just waiting for Dana White to book a fight card.

Cleaning up the weird stuff

There are a handful of "technical" trophies that you can actually cheese with a second controller or by playing against the AI on the easiest setting.

Take Headshot... Bang! for example. You need to knockout an opponent on the same side they are already damaged. Just spam leg kicks or hooks to one side until the indicator is flashing red, then land one big shot.

For Just Bleed, you just need a doctor to enter the cage. The easiest way to do this is to keep hitting your opponent with elbows from the clinch. Cuts happen way more frequently in UFC 5 than in previous games thanks to the new "Real Impact System." Eventually, the ref will pause the fight to let the doctor look at a gash.

Don't Judge Me is arguably the easiest trophy in the history of the franchise. You just go into your Player Card and change something in every category. It takes thirty seconds.

Your roadmap to the Platinum

If you want to be efficient, follow this flow:

  • Start Career Mode on Easy: Become the GOAT, prestige a move, and get your UFC contract. Focus on finishing fights early to keep your longevity high.
  • Check Fight Week: As soon as a real-world event is live, go in and make your picks and do the challenges. Don't wait.
  • Head to Online Career: Pick a style you’re comfortable with and just keep fighting. Even losses count toward the prestige trophy.
  • Snipe the Blitz Battle: Wait for a ruleset that favors your playstyle. Win two fights, get to Round 3, and you're done.
  • Offline Cleanup: Use a second controller to get the specific KOs or submission releases you missed.

Once you’ve knocked out the online career prestige, the rest is basically just playing the game. It’s a very satisfying list because it doesn't force you to spend months in a menu. Just get in the cage, break some ribs, and that shiny platinum trophy will be yours before you know it.

Start by checking the current Fight Week status in the main menu to see if you can knock those time-sensitive ones out right now.
