Honestly, fishing in Stellar Blade is one of the most relaxing yet strangely addictive parts of Eve's journey, but if you're trying to fill that fish data log for the Ocean Maid outfit, it can get kinda frustrating.

Most people think you can just stand at the Oasis and wait for everything to bite. You can't. While the Oasis is the "home base" for fishing, the rarest catches are tucked away in corners of the map you've probably sprinted past ten times.

How to Get Started with Clyde

First things first. You aren't catching anything until you reach the Great Desert. Once you're there, look for the Oasis. It’s the only spot of green in a massive pile of sand—basically impossible to miss. You'll meet Clyde, a guy who has clearly decided that the apocalypse is the perfect time to work on his tan.

Grab the rod next to him. Talk to him. Do the "Looking Glass" quest. Boom, you're a fisherman. Or fisherwoman. You get the point.

Stellar Blade Fishing Locations: The Essential Map

To get all 25 fish, you have to travel. Some fish only spawn in specific water types. Here is the lowdown on where you actually need to go.

The Oasis (Great Desert)

This is your primary spot. It’s where you’ll spend most of your time because it’s the only place to catch Gigantic and Jumbo fish.

• Fish Types: Small fish (Goldfish, Mudskipper), Gigantic (Great White Shark, Arowana), and the legendary Jumbo fish (Whale Shark, Dunkleosteus).
• The Catch: You need the Fantastic Bait for the Whale Shark. Don't even bother trying without it; you’ll just waste your time catching more Mackerel.

The Small Pond in Xion

Right near the entrance to the Wasteland (by the Tetrapod), there’s a tiny, unassuming pool of water. It looks like a puddle, but it's the goldmine for Medium fish.

The Hidden Cave (Wasteland)

This one is a bit of a trek. It’s in the North/Northwest part of the Wasteland, tucked behind some cliffs near the Solar Tower. There’s a cave with a beautiful underground lake.

• The Secret: This is the best spot for the Pacific Bluefin Tuna.
• Note: It’s also involved in a side quest regarding some "grapes," so you might end up here anyway if you're a completionist.

The Plant (Wasteland)

Way over in the Southeast of the Wasteland, there’s a spot called "The Plant." It’s an industrial-looking area with some flooded sections.

• Why go here? It's another solid spot for Large fish like the Ocean Sunfish, and it's actually where you find the chest for the Fantastic Bait quest.

Eidos 9 (The Missable Spot)

This is the one that catches people out. Eidos 9 is an optional area that only unlocks if you’ve maxed out Lily’s progress bar before the "point of no return."

• The Atelier: At the very end of this zone, there’s a small body of water. You can catch the Great White Shark and Arowana here too, but honestly, the Oasis is easier. Still, it's a cool spot if you’re already there.

Matching Bait to the Catch

The game doesn't explicitly tell you this, but using the wrong bait is basically like trying to hunt a Tachy-mode Naytiba with a wooden stick.

1. Small Shrimp: Use these for Small fish (Goldfish, Betta).
2. Wriggling Insects: These are for Medium fish (Sea Bass, Mackerel).
3. Fish Slices: Use these for Large fish (Tuna, Sailfish).
4. Special Bait: Reserved for the Gigantic tier (Sharks).
5. Fantastic Bait: Only for the two Jumbo legends.

The Quest for the Fantastic Bait

You can't just buy the best bait. You have to earn it.
After catching a decent variety of fish, check the Xion Bulletin Board. You’ll see quests like "A Gift for a Fishing Maniac" and eventually "Where is the Fantastic Bait?"

You’ll have to talk to Clyde, then head to the Wasteland to find a passcode-locked chest submerged in water at The Plant. The code is usually given to you by Roxanne in Xion (you have to buy the "Information: Fantastic Bait" item from her shop). Once you have that bait, it never runs out. It’s infinite.

That One Fish You’re Probably Missing

Is it the Dunkleosteus? Or maybe the Whale Shark?
Most players hit 23/25 and get stuck. Usually, the missing ones are the Jumbo types at the Oasis. If they aren't biting, make sure you've bought all the Fishing Data from Clyde. He sells "Advanced" and "Fantastic" data that significantly increases your chances of hooking the big ones. If he isn't selling them yet, you need to catch more unique species to "impress" him.
