In Shee Vaneer, wait for the elevator. Ride it up, but instead of jumping off toward the monk, look around the side of the pillar. There’s a narrow walkway. Follow it. You’ll find a chest containing a Phrenic Bow or similar leveled gear depending on how many Divine Beasts you’ve clocked. It’s a long-range bow, which is perfect for sniping Bokoblins from the heights of the Dueling Peaks later.

Why the Twin Memories Shrines are Unique

Breath of the Wild is full of "physics" puzzles. You freeze water, you move metal boxes, you blow things up. But the Shee Vaneer Shrine is a logic puzzle based on observation. It’s a callback to older Zelda games where you had to write things down on a physical piece of paper.

Exit Shee Venath, warp back to the tower or climb back up, and use your picture of Shee Venath to solve Shee Vaneer.

It sounds like a lot of back-and-forth, but it’s the only way to ensure you don't get stuck.

The lore behind these shrines is also worth a thought. The monks, Shee Vaneer and Shee Venath, were supposedly brothers. This mirrored trial was meant to test the bond of those who challenge it—or just their ability to use a camera. Either way, it’s a memorable break from the combat-heavy "Major Test of Strength" shrines that litter the rest of the map.

What to do after Shee Vaneer

Once you have your Spirit Orb, you’re in a prime position. You’re at the highest point in the region. Look for a small grove of trees nearby on the mountain. There’s a Korok seed hidden under a rock up there. There’s also a high chance of a Star Fragment falling nearby if you hang out until nightfall. The peaks are a magnet for them.

If you’re low on hearts, head back down toward the river. There are plenty of Hearty Truffles near the base of the cliffs. Just watch out for the Stone Talus (Senior) that hangs out in the canyon. He’s a jerk and will throw rocks at you if you get too close to the water’s edge.

  • Verify your inventory: Make sure you actually took the photo of the floor pattern before leaving the shrine area.
  • Check the map: Ensure both shrine icons on your map have a small chest icon next to the name; if not, you missed the hidden loot.
