Honestly, most people play Final Fantasy 8 and think Quistis Trepe is just the "tutorial girl" who wears glasses and carries a whip. It’s brutal. You can feel the awkwardness through the screen. She’s trying to find a connection because she’s lonely, but she’s still wearing the instructor uniform.

  • The Big Sister Trap: We later find out the whole "orphanage gang" (Squall, Quistis, Zell, Selphie, Irvine) grew up together and forgot. Quistis didn't totally forget, though. It makes the "Islands Closest to Heaven and Hell" a total breeze.

The Shockwave Pulsar Grind

Her ultimate Limit Break is Shockwave Pulsar. It’s one of the few moves in the game that can actually break the 9,999 damage limit. To get it, you need a Dark Matter.
Now, getting Dark Matter is a chore. You need to level up the GF Siren to Level 100 and use the Tool-RF ability on 100 Curse Spikes. It takes forever, but seeing that massive explosion clear the screen is worth the carpal tunnel from playing Triple Triad.

The "Trepies" and the Triple Triad Secret

Quistis has a literal fan club. The "Trepies" are scattered around Balamb Garden, and while they seem like a joke, they are actually your ticket to early-game dominance.

You can win the Quistis Card from the Trepe Groupies in the 2F classroom or the cafeteria right at the start of the game. It’s an A-level card with a 10 (A) on the top and a 9 on the left. It’s almost impossible to lose with it in the early stages.
