You’re running through Yukiko’s Castle for the third time. Your SP is low. You’ve already beaten the boss, but here you are, back in the red-carpeted hallways because a girl in Class 2-2 needs a very specific desk ornament. It's the Persona 4 Golden Angel Statue, an item that seems simple enough on paper but has caused more than a few players to pull their hair out.
It’s just a statue.
Except, it’s not just a statue when you’ve spent forty-five minutes fighting the wrong enemies.
Honestly, the "Acquire an Angel Statue" quest (Quest 04) is one of those early-game hurdles that separates the casual players from those who actually want to clear the quest log. If you’ve ever felt like the RNG is personally insulting you while you hunt for this thing, you aren't alone.
Where the Persona 4 Golden Angel Statue Actually Hides
Most people assume that if a quest item is in Yukiko’s Castle, any shadow in the castle will eventually cough it up. This is a trap. You can’t just farm the first floor and hope for the best.
To find the Persona 4 Golden Angel Statue, you need to climb. Specifically, you’re looking for floors 6 and 7. But even then, it’s not a guaranteed spawn. The item drops from an enemy called the Avenger Knight.
He looks exactly like what you’d expect: a floating, golden-armored knight with a massive sword.

Here is the kicker that most guides gloss over: the Avenger Knight is sometimes a coward. While he can show up as a standard encounter on those upper floors, he is much more likely to appear if he is summoned.
The Positive King Strategy
If you are having zero luck finding a lone Avenger Knight, look for the Positive King. This is a round, blob-like shadow wearing a crown. He’s usually surrounded by smaller "Bambino" enemies.
Don't kill the King immediately.
If you leave him alone for a turn or two, he has a high probability of summoning an Avenger Knight into the battle. It’s like a weird, supernatural SOS call. Once the Knight appears, take him out first to ensure the statue drops.
Why You Can't Find the Statue

One of the most annoying quirks of Persona 4 Golden is that quest-specific items literally do not exist in the game world until you have officially accepted the quest from the NPC. You cannot "pre-farm" the Persona 4 Golden Angel Statue. If you cleared the castle to save Yukiko and thought you’d be smart by keeping every drop, you won’t find it.

The female student in your classroom (Class 2-2) must have the "!" over her head. You must talk to her. You must agree to find her the statue.
Only then does the Avenger Knight’s loot table update to include the statue.
Also, keep an eye on the weather. While not strictly required, rainy days in Inaba change the spawn rates of rare shadows. Some players swear by hunting on rainy days because the "difficult" shadows—the ones that drop quest items—seem to pop up more frequently in the shuffle.
The Demon Statue Confusion
Basically, everyone gets these two mixed up.
Right around the same time you get the request for the Angel Statue, a male student in the Classroom Building 2F asks for a Demon Statue (Quest 05).
- Angel Statue: Dropped by Avenger Knight (Floors 6-7).
- Demon Statue: Dropped by Magical Magus (Floors 6-7).
They are both in the same area. They both involve statues. If you’re already in the castle for one, you might as well stay until you have both.

There’s an old rumor that you can give the girl the Demon Statue instead of the Angel one. You can try. She’ll just look at you like you’re crazy and refuse to take it. There’s no "secret" dark path here—just a wasted trip to the TV world.
Is the Reward Worth Your Time?
When you finally hand over the Persona 4 Golden Angel Statue, she gives you three Chest Keys.
Is it a game-breaking reward? No.
But in the early game, Chest Keys are gold. They are the only way to open those locked blue chests that contain the actually decent armor and weapons you can’t afford at Daidara Metalworks yet. Plus, completing these minor quests is the only way to unlock later, more lucrative requests from the same NPCs.
Actionable Steps for the Hunt
If you’re stuck right now, do this:
- Verify the Quest: Open your menu and make sure Quest 04 is active.
- Go to the TV: Talk to Teddie or Yukiko and warp directly to Floor 5.
- The Floor Loop: Clear Floors 6 and 7. If no Avenger Knights appear, don't waste time. Move to the next floor and then come back to reset the spawns.
- The Summoning Trick: If you see a Positive King, guard with your main character and let the King summon the Knight.
- Sell the Rest: While you're there, grab all the other materials. Sell them to Daidara. You'll likely unlock a new weapon for Chie or Yosuke in the process.
Stop wandering the first few floors. Get to the top, find the Knight, and get out of there before your SP hits zero.
