It’s a bit breezy with 13 mph winds coming out of the west. If you’re heading out to Broadway or grabbing brunch in East Nashville, just know it’s going to feel cooler than the thermometer says. Tonight, the floor drops out. We are hitting a low of 20°F under clear skies. Basically, if you haven't dripped your faucets yet, tonight might be the night to start thinking about it.

Sunday is going to be one of those "stay inside and watch football" days. The high is only 37°F. It’ll be sunny, which is a nice psychological trick, but the air is going to be cold. We’re also looking at a tiny 5% chance of snow flurries. Nothing that’s going to shut down I-40, but enough to make you look twice at the windshield.
Monday, January 19, keeps the trend going. It’s actually looking like the coldest day of this stretch.

If you’re commuting, just be aware that the 11 mph winds are going to make that 34 degrees feel significantly more aggressive. There's a 10% chance of some light snow, but again, we aren't talking about a "milk and bread" emergency yet.

Tuesday is when things start to stabilize, at least for a second. We get the sun back. The high nudges up to 38°F, which isn't exactly tropical, but after a 15-degree night, it'll feel like a luxury. Humidity is dropping to around 23%, so it’s going to be a very dry, static-electricity-on-the-carpet kind of day.
Then comes Wednesday.
This is the pivot point. The wind shifts to the southwest, and we finally break back into the 40s with a high of 47°F. But there’s a catch. We’re looking at a 40% chance of light rain or snow during the day. Transition days in Nashville are always a bit messy. Check your tire pressure. Cold snaps like this are notorious for triggering that annoying "low air" light on your dashboard because the air density changes so fast. Also, maybe hit the grocery store before Monday night. Not because we're getting buried in snow, but because 15 degrees is just too cold to be standing in a parking lot with a grocery cart if you don't have to.
