Limbus Company Tier List: What Most People Get Wrong

Limbus Company Tier List: What Most People Get Wrong

Managing a bus full of depressed sinners is hard enough without wasting your precious Enkephalin on bottom-tier Identities. Honestly, the meta in Limbus Company has shifted so violently over the last few months that half the "best unit" advice you’ll find on old forums is basically a trap.

You’ve probably seen the standard rankings. SSS tier, F tier, the works. But here's the reality: a limbus company tier list isn't just about who hits the hardest anymore. With the introduction of Chain Battles and the sheer complexity of Canto VII and VIII, "raw power" is a lie if you don't have the status count to back it up.

Stop sharding units just because they have a 000 rarity. We need to talk about what actually clears the Mirror Dungeon and Refraction Railway without making you pull your hair out.

The God-Kings of the Current Meta

If you aren't running [Heishou Pack – Mao Branch] Faust, are you even playing the same game? She is, without exaggeration, the single most oppressive Identity Project Moon has released in 2026. Her Skill 3 rotation is stupid. We're talking about a 4-coin nuke that applies Rupture count like it’s going out of style. Plus, she’s fast. Like, "always goes first and sets up the entire team" fast.

Then there’s [The Manager of La Manchaland] Don Quixote. People kept saying she’d be niche. They were wrong. Her speed values and Bleed synergy make her a mainstay for anyone trying to speedrun endgame content.

And don't even get me started on [Lobotomy E.G.O:: The Sword Sharpened with Tears] Rodion. She’s a negative coin ID that actually works because her sanity management is trivial. You use a defense skill twice, and suddenly she’s hitting harder than Ring Sang ever did. It’s kinda hilarious watching her delete bosses while everyone else is still setting up their buffs.

The IDs You Need to Shard Right Now

  • [Blade Lineage Mentor] Meursault: Still the king of Poise. His ability to turn a mediocre team into a crit-machine is unmatched.
  • [Wild Hunt] Heathcliff: He’s a bit of a slow starter, sure. But once he gets going in a Sinking team, his S3 weight is basically a delete button for mob waves.
  • [Firefist Office Survivor] Gregor: The AOE king. If you’re struggling with the new swarm encounters, he’s your best friend.

Why "Good" IDs Often Fail

Here is a hot take: [The Ring Pointillist Student] Yi Sang isn't the undisputed #1 anymore.

Wait, don't close the tab yet.

He’s still incredible. His S2 coin reuse is the stuff of legends. But in the current limbus company tier list landscape, he’s fragile. If he gets unlucky and gets staggered early in a high-level Mirror Dungeon run, your whole Bleed engine can stall. He has competition now. Characters like [The Lord of Hongyuan] Hong Lu offer similar scaling potential but with way more survivability.

You have to look at the team, not the Sinner. A "Tier S" Rupture unit is actually "Tier D" if you don't have the right E.G.O to maintain the count.

The Status Archetype Breakdown

Status teams are the only way to survive the latest Refraction Railway. If you're just throwing "strong" units together, you're going to hit a wall. Hard.

Rupture is King

The current Rupture meta revolves around Mao Faust and Deyvat Association Rodion. Why Deyvat? Because the team desperately needs Wrath resources, and she provides them while maintaining Rupture count better than almost anyone else. If you're still using the old "Seven Association" core, you're living in 2024. Update your roster.

The Bleed Resurgence

Bleed used to be "fine." Now, with The Thumb East Capo Meursault and the Kurokumo Clan buffs, it's terrifying. The trick is stacking count. If you just stack potency, the stacks fall off before they do real damage. You need Princess Rodion or Kurokumo Ishmael to keep those stacks hanging around so the enemy bleeds out the moment they breathe.

Sinking and the Sanity Cheat Code

Sinking is basically the "easy mode" for boss fights. By tanking the enemy's sanity, you make them lose every single clash. Dieci Hong Lu is a monster here. His discard mechanic means he’s constantly cycling into his best skills, and at 3 Insight, his S1 rolls 20s. That’s a Skill 1. It’s honestly broken.

E.G.O: The Invisible Tier List

You can't talk about a limbus company tier list without E.G.O. An ID is only half the character.

Fluid Sac Faust is still the most important E.G.O in the game. Period. The SP healing and HP restoration are too good to pass up. If you don't have it, shard it before you shard any 000 Identity.

But keep an eye on [WAW] Contempt, Awe for Ryoshu. In a Bleed or Burn team, the damage modifiers it provides are disgusting. Also, Rime Shank for Rodion remains the cornerstone of Sinking. Without Rime Shank, Sinking is just a shiny debuff; with it, it's a death sentence.

Avoid These Noob Traps

  1. Chasing 000s blindly: Some 00 IDs, like [MultiCrack Office] Heathcliff or [LCE E.G.O:: Lantern] Don Quixote, actually outperform older 000s in specific teams.
  2. Ignoring Defense Skills: In Canto VII and beyond, you have to dodge or block. IDs with 10+ base dodge (like Molar Ishmael) are often more valuable than "pure" glass cannons.
  3. Neglecting Uptie IV: Some units are "okay" at Uptie III but become gods at Uptie IV. W Corp Don Quixote is the classic example. If she's not Uptie IV, she’s barely a Tier B unit. At IV? She’s a nuke.

What You Should Do Next

Stop hoarding your shards. If you're missing Mao Branch Faust or Lord Hong Lu, go to the Dispensary and get them. They change the game.

Prioritize building one cohesive status team rather than six mediocre ones. If you have the pieces for Sinking, go all in on Dieci Rodion, Spicebush Yi Sang, and Molar Ishmael. If you prefer Bleed, focus on the Heishou and Kurokumo synergy.

Check your E.G.O resources too. If your team can't fuel Fluid Sac or Blind Obsession, you need to swap out a Sinner for someone who generates the right sin affinities. The best team isn't the one with the most stars; it's the one that never runs out of fuel.
