KCD 2 Feast for the Poor: What Most People Get Wrong

KCD 2 Feast for the Poor: What Most People Get Wrong

You’re standing outside a heavily guarded warehouse in the middle of the night, clutching a head of cabbage like it’s a holy relic. This is the reality of the KCD 2 Feast for the Poor quest. It’s one of those missions in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II that sounds simple on paper—steal some food, give it to the hungry—but quickly turns into a high-stakes stealth operation that can leave you bleeding out in a ditch if you aren't careful.

Honestly, it’s the kind of quest that makes you love and hate Warhorse Studios at the same time.

Starting the Hunt in Kuttenberg

To even get this quest moving, you’ve got to be in the Kuttenberg region. You’ll find yourself at a tavern called the Hole in the Wall. Talk to a guy named Chenyek. Now, Chenyek isn't just some random drunk; he’s part of a rebel group called The Guild. But he won't just hand you the job. You have to pass a bit of an interrogation first.

Pro tip: when he asks about the rightful king, say Wenceslas. If you mess up the dialogue, you lose some reputation, which kinda sucks.

Once you’re in, Chenyek gives you the pitch. You’re going to rob Sigismund’s warehouse. The goal is to swipe some high-end sausages meant for the Emperor’s table and give them to the beggars. It’s basically medieval Robin Hood stuff, but with more processed meats.

The Knuckles Factor

Before you bolt out the door, a guy named Knuckles will probably start shouting at you. Don't ignore him. He’s got a side hustle. He wants you to grab a specific bottle of wine while you’re inside the warehouse.

If you agree, he’s actually pretty helpful. He’ll toss you:

  • 3 Lockpicks
  • A Weak Quickfinger potion
  • A Weak Nighthawk potion

Basically, he gives you the thief’s starter kit. You'd be a bit silly to say no, even if you’re playing a "noble" Henry. 100 groschen is 100 groschen.

Infiltrating the Warehouse Without Dying

The warehouse is south of the river Bach, just outside the city walls. If you try to walk through the front gate during the day, the guards will essentially turn you into a pincushion.

Don't do that.

Wait until at least 21:00. Nighttime is your best friend here. If you have Mutt with you, tell him to stay or send him home. Dogs are great, but they are loud, and loud is dead in this mission.

Finding the Prize

There are two main ways to get in. You can try to sneak past the gate guards by throwing a rock to distract them, but there’s a much better way. To the right of the main entrance, there’s a barn. You can climb up into the loft window and drop down inside the perimeter. It’s way safer.

The sausages are located on the eastern side of the camp. Look for the big, colorful green tents near a campfire. Inside the main tent, there’s a "Very Hard" locked chest.

This is where people get stuck. If your lockpicking isn't high enough, pop that Quickfinger potion Knuckles gave you. If it's still too tough, you’ll have to find the key. The guard sitting by the central building usually has it on him. You can either pickpocket him or, if you’re feeling aggressive, knock him out and loot it.

The Cabbage Message
Remember that cabbage I mentioned? If you bought one from a grocer in town earlier, you can swap the sausages for the cabbage. It doesn't really change the reward, but it’s a hilarious insult to Sigismund. Henry basically tells the Emperor to eat his greens.

The Wine Stash

If you’re doing the job for Knuckles too, the wine is in a different spot. Look for a lean-to structure in the center of the warehouse area, surrounded by casks. There’s another "Very Hard" chest there. Grab it and get out. The easiest exit is a ladder on the wall right behind the sausage tent.

Feeding the Poor (and the Bugs)

Once you have the loot, you have to go back to Kuttenberg. You need to find 5 different beggars.

Here is the frustrating part: not every beggar counts.

You’ll see people sitting around, but you can only interact with specific ones. Look for the ones who are actually in the "begging" animation—kneeling with their hands out. You can give each person up to 5 sausages.

Common spots to find them:

  1. Near the city gates.
  2. Outside the major churches.
  3. Around the Hole in the Wall tavern.

There have been a lot of reports of this quest bugging out. Some players find that the "Talk" option just doesn't appear. If that happens, try waiting an hour or moving to a different gate. Usually, the ones near the fast travel points are the most reliable.

Was it Worth It?

After you’ve handed out the food, head back to the Hole in the Wall. Talk to Knuckles first if you got the wine—he’ll give you your 100 groschen. Then talk to Chenyek.

You don't get a massive pile of gold from Chenyek. This quest is more about building reputation and unlocking further missions with The Guild. It’s the "in" you need if you want to see the shadier side of Kuttenberg's politics.

Actionable Takeaways for Your Playthrough

  • Prep your gear: Wear dark, quiet clothes. If your noise level is over 20, you’re going to get caught.
  • Buy the cabbage first: It’s a small detail, but it makes the quest feel complete.
  • Check your levels: Don't even attempt the locks without a potion unless your Lockpicking is at least level 10-12.
  • Don't over-feed: You only need to feed 5 beggars to satisfy the quest objective. Save any leftover sausages for yourself; they’re actually decent food.

If you're looking for more work after this, Chenyek will point you toward Goliath for brawling or a guy named Rat for more "discreet" work. The KCD 2 Feast for the Poor quest is really just the beginning of Henry's life as a medieval insurgent.
