Critque Please!

I'm new to Pixelating, this is like one of my first posts. I would like you guys to critique this gun I made please.

When I think gun (and as your picture indicates) I think hard cold sharp-edged weapon, but your rendition has a strange roundness to it that makes it look more like a medieval weapon. Without the reference, the smaller details would be unrecognizable.
Also you don't want the light to be so soft and diffuse on the metal. I forgot who, but someone in this forum recently linked to this guide that'd be of help regarding different textures and the way they reflect light.

To me it looks as tho the gun is really short and fat, at least the cocking mechanism. Maybe try making it bigger?
also the tip seems to narrow in yours, yet in the reference it has a bulge. The clip sticking out is about as long as the grip, so it should be a bit longer.
