Of the games currently on my iPhone, Critter Crunch probably stands out the most as far as pixel art is concerned. The backgrounds look like a combination of pixel and NPA techniques, while the sprites and UI are all lovingly pixeled and animated.

Of course, there's also Adam Atomic's Canabalt.

Yeah, I was mainly just addressing the background art.
...,but I think it's fair to say that it's excellent quality for a current-gen pixel art game.
So I must assume there is a difference in quality between current gen PA and stuff that was drawn 15 years ago. I´m just curious,
as I think we should judge the art regardless when it was created.

Hi... Is there a place here where I can get a mercenary job?
I somehow find that question a bit amusing, coming from the light dressed lady.

Word is, for female the logic of armor is opposite as it is for males -- The less it covers, the more it protects.

I want the 'thank' feature added so I can thank this ;D

Anyways, yeah. I've seen some nice pixel art in the iTouch/iPhone games I've played.

I particularly liked 'Skullpogo' by ChevyRay and his team. And not just because he's a bud of mine, haha. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RElL1PrlXXM)

Pixel art games are always more fun for me to play because I can appreciate the dedication put towards the graphics and the artistic direction of the creators. It's a different experience playing something in a media that I'm not too familiar with, if you understand.

I hope to see pixel art games increase in the future; and with the emergence of so many eager indie devs, I think we'll be fine! :)

Thanks for letting me know that the game was out, but you posted in the wrong thread. That game is absolutely banned from being mentioned in here!  >:D
