I'm rather interested in this, I'm in a game authoring class this semester. The only problem is the competition falls quite near the finals week but I'll see if I can get my professor to give extra grades for the class for people who enter this competition.

Remind me again. Gamemakers like The Games Factory are allowed in this, right? Or have the rules changed since three years ago?

The rules say you can... but the rules are also contradictory. They say it's okay to use game makers, but the other rule says you can't use anything that controls gameplay or physics, code that controls sprite graphics for you and such, and most game makers do just that.
