Post Apocalyptic ~Sandy-Door~

I started drawing a picture and now i need some help......  :(

The camera in this scene would be looking looking out of a cave/vault into the distance,
After the scene looks ok i wanna add a silhouette dude that's looking out of the opening vault doors.

The main thing I'm stuck on is how to get the inside of the doors too even sorta look good.

Im guessing this is based off fallout 3  :crazy: ? well im not good at pixel art so I can't help you much but... The sand repeats alot there is only  these roundish sand dunes, maybe add different shapes

Maybe add some broken stuff out in the distance.

The sand color also leaves something to be desired. It seems really bright and cartoony, which is fine on some occasions, but I'm guessing that's not what you're going for. The sand also seems to just...crawl right up to the cave entrance. I think this is a perspective issue, but I could be wrong.

For some reason the color issue passed right over my head... :-[

Ok, I changed the colors to have less contrast and be more of a
sand color instead of a golden grain color.
And i changed some of the sand in the distance.



I'm gonna give the door another try too.

I gave the indoors a try it still looks sorta retarded....
Well i never did the side walls...
but it needs something else..

I'd increase the blue on the dunes' shadows (ie less saturated) because of the sky ambiance.
