Wow.  That's awesome.  I love the color choice on this piece; it just creates such a mood.  That and the pseudo-surrealist composition make this a treat for the eyes.  I can't tell if this is unfinished or not; a large portion of the sky is not dithered like the left side.  Was that intentional or have you just not done that yet?  I love the city on the hill; it's very well done.  The tree, however, looks a bit off.  I don't know what it is, but it just doesn't seem right for some reason.  I love the dithering, especially around the area of the sun.  The stars are also very well done.  Overall, this is a very cool piece.  Keep it up!

I have to agree, awesome colours! I also love how the edgy clouds kind of could be interpreted as mountains as well, although I'm not sure if this was your intention ;) The only thing I'd really change is the shadow of the foremost tree, I'd expand it all the way over the hill towards the bottom right corner of the image.

I'd make the shadow even longer and have it combine with the shadow of the hill.  If you draw an imaginary line from the sun through the top of the tree, that's how far the shadow should be.

Ah, yes.  That's what seemed off.  That shadow was way too small.  The only thing that still bugs me about it is the large expanse of white space.  Maybe try moving the purples' dividing lines down a bit to cut into that.  Or add some clouds or sky texture or something.  Looks sweet!

I like the white space. It's weird.

I made a little pallette edit to make the grass capture the sunset a little more. Just to give ya an idea ... if you like it, heh.
