[WIP]One of my first sprites :P - Spacejet C+C please

Well, there it is. Like I said it's one of my first sprites and I'm not very good at spriting either. BUT, I'm trying to get better.

As the topic title says it is supposed to be a spacejet for a side project I'm working on. The light source would be upper left and
I plan to animate the jet once I get better to make it like pulsate.

Problems -

Shading - Not good at shading yet, nor it it completed. Not completely sure how I am supposed to shade the top of the jet.
Color Choice - Color Theory was never really my thing and even as I hand draw things I tend to stay away from coloring them.

I'm not sure completely what else is wrong with it but that is why I'm here

Well your first problem is the the top feels quite flat.
The pyramid in the middle has a decent understanding of volumes for one of your first sprites. 

You've also used some colors that are very hard to actually distinguish a difference at 1x zoom.
Try and sort out all your volumes and shapes before you try and get into trying to pixel smooth it out.

But neat design I like it, this has potential.

Hmm...Thanks for the C+C I will take what you said about the colors into consideration.

Also, the top being flat is just because I had no idea how to shade it

Btw pretty nice edit btw. Thanks. I see if I can work off of that.

I tried to shade it with the light source from the upper left. Don't know if I failed or not.
