kangaroo.

on: March 11, 2009, 12:06:48 pm
AND SO,
australian culture strikes pixelation. I was going to do some sentences to make you wonder what us australians get up to, but i wont.

i AM going for an effect like they're outlined pixels, but not a set outline. like all these lines come from nowhere and happen to make it look like a kangaroo. i am still tossing up what color the black should be.

thanks in advanced

just an idea:

the first time i read the post, i didn't catch that you were going to change the black lines, and that's my only critique right now.
so i whipped this up to give just one idea.

Aren't kangaroos' tails longer? I thought they were almost like equal length to body to balance it out or something.

Interesting concept, I don't really know what advice i can give. I suppose I'd say the lines distract a lot from the actual form of the piece, and I could suggest even tinting them to match the colours they go over/around.

I really like this idea, though my initial reaction was nice T-rex.

A kangaroos tail is quite large and their heads aren't as hunched. I'm assuming he looks like this because he is jumping which he would be in this pose roughly but his back should be up high with a strong arch down to his head. Imagine an S shape through his tail and spine to his head. His head should also be smaller maybe.
Here is an image of a jumping kangaroo for reference.

and some standing kangaroos.

Currently I don't like the black and the grey makes it too hard on the eyes. In terms of making the lines a bit easier on the eyes while keeping the style maybe try something like the ground in this image Hopefully Helm doesn't mind me using this.

Great interesting idea though, this could turn out to be really awesome looking.
