Two Face Challenge [warning: wiggly manparts]

on: March 05, 2009, 12:21:39 pm
Inspired by ptoing on this one me thinks.
The challenge was to make a 100x100 "portrait" of a two-faced character.
This didn't qualify so it wasn't entered in the mean time I'll work on it till I think it's done I guess.

Animation is optional.

I think the angry guys movement is disturbing the the blue guys calm image, if you know what I mean. Perhaps you should make the red guys torso moving a little bit less and let the blue guy imprison by hes charming butterfly

I would focus the animation on the faces a bit more. Also, one of the stipulations is that the image be a portrait.

I like it a lot, but I'm inclined to agree with Doppleganger.

Yea when I posted this on PJ I asked about it.
I had asked Cure and Larwick about it on MSN, and both of them said pretty much the same thing.
I was aware that it didn't match the challenge thus the quotation marks on "portrait"
Kind of makes me peaved, this is the second time I've gone to the canvas for a challenge without reading the full post.
The last one I just tossed after finding out it was no good for what it was intended for.

I don't really see the problem. unless is specifically says it has to be like a head and shoulders portrait. a portrait can be full body, it can have an environment behind it, or lots of other stuff. a portrait doesn't have to be conventional.
However, maybe you could really put some nice rendering and polish in the faces to bring them out.

While the turning of the head adds a lot, I'm not sure about what I think is the turning of the legs. I think it would be better if the body twisted rather than the legs shifting left to right. If you keep them anchored makes the attention drawn towards the parts that matter more.

Removing his willy would be appreciated.

I dunno, I feel that the piece has a certain humor that you can't quite capture without a wiggling penis.  :D
