Gunslinger

on: January 11, 2009, 04:50:18 am
Been awhile since I made a posted anything here :-*

So far I'm happy with the head and the gun arm, but I'm not certain about the shorts or the hand in the pocket (Originally that arm was gonna be down and curved out femininely, like in the first couple frames of the WIP)

Oh, plus, for good measure: Give me your criticism, ye beasts of the Pixelation! (Especially Helm and NDChristie)

The whole pose looks awkward, but especially that hand in the pocket. She's also leaned too far back and her head is scrunched down, giving the impression that she has no neck. Or is about to fall over. Make her stand up straighter, or at least change the in-pocket hand to balance her out a bit.

The gun seems out of place, it doesn't look like it's resting on her shoulder. I think the gun should be tipped forwards or backwards, it just seems too straight and it looks like that was what started this PA off. The legs are awkward, the left arm seems too long.

Hey Sherman, looking good.

A few things did look off to me though, so I made an edit. Here is what I did:

I moved her head up and forward one pixel. She looks like she has no neck right now, and kind of hunchy.
Smoother out her hips, moved her left leg in one pixel.
Removed the stuff behind the arms. I was unable to tell what it was, and it made her look very squat. If you want to keep it, I'd make it darker so it is more apparent that it is not part of her torso.
Shortened her left thigh by a couple pixels.
Thinned her left thigh a little bit.
Shortened her left pants leg

Well, take or leave any of this! Hope it helped a little. Keep up the good work.

Edit:

Michael I think is right about my edit... I did make her very generic. Here is an updated edit attempting to rectify that:

ehhhh, id say you shaved off her hips  :( i thought the little cloak was readable enough, now she has shoulderpads. i think you kinda squeenix'd her

my biggest issue is that her left leg seems longer, but maybe it isnt. i like her arms and hands
