I dig the colors! I feel that the top part could use more detail and volume, as the skull has, though. It's pretty flat at the moment.

It's nice though, glad to see ya pixeling again. :)

Well, it' s easy... Add darker colours as you approax to the edges of the tube and you' ll get a nice volume effect...  :)

The shape (silhouette, drawing, 2D) is okay, but it lacks in form (volume, 3D). Colors are not important in this step, just values. Try to block in the volumes (sculpt the form!) first with grayscale and then add fancy colors. Texture is okay but only if it doesn't distract from the actual form.

its a bit hard to shade it like glass when you dont have a background, cause glass is all about reflections and refraction. and with no background or scene theres no refraction and hardly any reflections other then the lightsource it self. if would definitly look better with a background.

this is something I made sometime ago (I hate to reference to it all the time, but please, bare with me just this once :) )

as you can see, for theglass, I had to put in a background just so I could show my point. otherwise it would just be a simple soap bobble
Image size doesn't matter! It's what you do with your pixels that counts!

Well, keep in mind glass doesn't necessarily have to be see-through.

agreed, but after you nail the refraction its a matter of contrast or transparency. still, its a good point

also, that bong could have smoke in it!  ;)

I'll see what I can do, although the bong I'm basing this off of isn't see through.
