I started this game back in september, currently named dawn using a small program called the Original Hamster Republic R.P.G. Creator Engine, or the OHRPGCE (OHR for short). anyways you can find a progress journal of it here: http://www.castleparadox.com/viewjournaltopic.php?t=717&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

enought of me rambling, more screens.

title screen so far.

An unnamed gunsmith (pic taken in the editor)

A waterway, with some errors.

Olmin, a character of many colors.

The Prince of Whales, an optional boss (pic also taken in editor)

Well, there ya have it. ill post more as i make more content, thanks in advance for any critiques you guys can give me!

Hey Memo, looking fairly good. I like that whale a lot, he is neat.

I would take the saturation down a bit on the grass though.

Thanks, i knew something was wrong with the grass but i couldnt quite tell. the 200+ colors in the Prince of Whales picture is the master pallet i have to work with and all the colors in the game HAVE to come from there, so finding the right colors sometimes can be difficult. Anyways thanks for the advice! :D

While everything's not bad, you're not taking some things realistically. The islands in the water, etc, look like they change from green to blue randomly. There should be a waterline, and it should look as if they are cutting into the water rather than just changing colors. If you don't understand, I could edit. :)

Also, with your grass tiles, they're nice, but Vierbit made a great post about grass tile variation. It gives it more readability and makes tiling less obvious.

It's a good read! Check it out.

Keep up the good work!
