Hi people of pixelation.
I am Damian aka Jim16. I'm not new here but I see this as my first ever topic and so will introduce myself to those that don't know me.
I have not done art in any form in my life until Pixel art. But I am lucky as I take human biology and know my anatomy well....ish.

What I have here is a "Pirate" for my first ever Pixel Joint competition. Bare with me as I have been pixeling for about 4months and have learn't allot and understand allot(still learning ), so throw your suggestions at me as they will be deeply appreciated and will be worked on immediately  as to learn. When I wake up though

I think I have the final!!!
A huge thanks to sharpm for his edit, as it showed me allot!(you guys wouldn't of seen it, but its really good, more so than mine, but it is very cartoony. If anyone want's to see it I can upload it?)

Hey Jim, I think the piece has steadily improved. You have done away with a lot of the outlines, and it looks better for that. Perhaps you could remove the one on the top on the moustache? Looks good regardless, keep up the good work.

Also, it seems like his right eye should be a tad higher.

That any better? I did both of what you said, and must say that you are right. I've been looking at it for so long I can't seem to see the faults.

Maybe define the facial features more?


Just a random queston,Why did you choose 1992 on the frame?

His face looks a bit too spherical for my taste, I think it's that strange shadow over on the right side of his face, above the mustache.

Mr Dr D you are correct, I will work on this as soon as I get back from my last day of school.

As for the 1992, I added that, as it is the year of my birth and has no real relevance to the actual picture.
And as for defining facial features, I am trying to do so but in a subtle way to get the most of the picture but have failed to do so

Well I thought I'd spend more time on this, but it seems I've lost interest and other commitments have come up.

Does this mean its finished? No, it just means that this is what I'm going to submit.
