[WIP] BOBasaur

on: November 20, 2008, 12:54:56 am

This image was for a Pixeljoint challenge having to do with creating a pixel based on what we thought the B.O.B.'s name meant. I came up with the bobasaur.

This guy really needs a lot of work in my opinion. Most importantly, I think he could go for a new paint job, so I'll start with that. I also think the body looks a little like a hunchback, and he looks like he has a major underbite. These are the things I will work on first. I'm really bad with choosing colors, I feel like I get lucky sometimes when choosing a palette but generally I fail with this. I will really try to come up with a good palette, but if anyone has any suggestions, I am more than welcome. And feel free to grind me on the C&C, the only way to grow is to listen and learn  :blind:

Update: This is the direction i'm taking him in:

Much improvement! Love that last version!
What's in his hand though?

correct my friend, it is a boombox. I wanted to ask your opinions on the lighting. I was thinking of using colored highlights on the left + top of the head but I'm not really sure how to go about color selection. Bright voilet worked ok, so did orange, but I'm not sure. I'm going for a sort of 3 tone bronze kind of color palette, I don't know how to describe it.
