on: November 03, 2008, 12:59:37 am
Hey, just gotta say that I love almost every single artwork here. Your all so talented.
I need help with a few sprites I'm working on for a game. There of a cow:

I need some tips and help on nice colours (Colour reference was taken on a art piece in PJ, not sure what it was called but it's also of a cow saying "Hey kid, I'm not a cow", walk cycle and how to make the cow look "better". Please help me, I will take any advice.

Well, first of all, welcome to the forums.

Second, never save as .JPG, because 1) it's hard to edit and work on afterwards 2) it screws with the quality.

Just upload the file again, and keep in mind that photobucket turns .BMP into .JPG.

We can comment on it then. :)
"Baboy" is Filipino for pig.

Well, I think these are anti-aliased cows in PNG and no JPG-artifacts  ::) Really nice cow (a bit lazy maybe). Is that the original size you draw the cows? (looks like shrunken down) To improve her, I would start by giving her a more sharp outline then.

Whoa, really?
I took a random color in Paint and it's only one pixel in the whole file.

But it doesn't look jpeg, on closer inspection.

This is weird; it has a lot of colors which are only used in two pixels, even on the first cow.

I don't mean to point fingers, but it looks NPA to me. Zack, in what program did you make this?

If he used photoshop and shrunk it later its normal for it to have many colors since Photoshop AA it automatically... I suppose thats the cause.  ^-^
