In the portrait, it looks like her left (viewer right) shoulder is overlapping her breast, making it seem like her arm is coming from her chest area rather than being at the side of her body. The other shoulder is then under her back, making it look disjointed. Her face also looks very masculine due to the sharp contrast of the shadows and midtone, and something about her actual facial structure takes away even more feminimity. Probably something with her eyes. I'm thinking it's the eyebrows being too low causing this.
