KOS Portrait (Done?)

on: January 07, 2006, 11:24:19 pm

I have no Idea how to go about this. I've never done something this big.
C&C, and any techniques that would be useful, please...please...

The same way you would a smaller piece for the most part.  Start by defining your light areas, where your lightsource hits... then define where the shadows are based off that.

Alright. Erm...

I don't know what to do with the large, empty areas.

Hey, cool sprite, lots of character for sure, I like the face ecspecially.
One thing I could mention is, mind you, I don't know his fighting style, but the stance isn't very "I'ma kick yo ass"...

Ehm.. I'm new to this, but on the portrait one, the upper chest (what's that called? x_x) feels more balloonish than on the sprite..
Still mush better than what I can do.. :P

Edit: The face is looking more blooded on the small sprite than the portrait.. Else from that, try shading the "hood", the emptiness makes it feel more orginal and I don't think it's needed to be something there...

The pecs, you mean? I'm not sure what you mean by balloonish...and "hood." Do you mean his...mask? Anyway, thanks for the comments, and I'll work on the pose a bit more.
More crits always appreciated.

Just would like to mention that the colar bones should be aimed towards the top of each shoulder, at the moment they are wrapping around his neck.
The Pecs are going to far into his arm pits. They should blend up into the shoulder more by going from the center of his chest and curving up into the shoulder area, they don't go towards the sides of the torso.
