ThunderCats - Liono

on: October 07, 2008, 08:22:20 am
I was chillin' with a friend in the weekend and got the oppertunity to watch a few ThunderCats episodes from a boxset. Being the retro girl I am, I totally enjoyed it. Very nostalgic.
I then made this for fun. Look! It's Liono!  ;D

I might make the rest of the gang as well for fun.  :D

Ahh good old Thundercats, they don't make 'em like that anymore.  :(

I think this is pretty good pixelling, pretty readable even at 1x. Perhaps the legs are a little pillowy though. My only real problem with this  is the stance which seems very awkward, need something more dynamic.

I'd have to agree with TomF in everything he writes:
a) They don't make Thundercats like that anymore...
b) Great Lion-O piece from Ryona but quite 'childish' stance for the Lord of Thundercats...
I'm waiting to see the full cast pixeled... And an animated version of Tigra vanishing inside his bolo whip...

ps. I just wonder what happened to Ryona's TMNT project...

Thanks for the replies, guys.

What exactly do you mean, TomF, when you say the legs are "pillowy"?

And what exactly makes the stance "childish", weaselpa? I really have no clue what that's suppose to mean.

Anyway, sorry for not getting into the rest of the cast yet. Been real busy with other projects and such. I'll still make an attempt though.

And as for the TMNT project... basicly same problem... Been preoccupied with other things.

It looks rendered well, I don't think the legs look pillowy. Though I do think the stance looks awkward and could maybe be more dynamic. Even by just pulling his right leg (closest leg to us) back it would make it look more natural I think.

Look forward to seeing the end results if you end up doing them all.

I agree the stance is uninspired.

The left hand and forearm look bigger then they should be, especially given that they are farther away.

Heh, I never watched thundercats. Turns out the main guy has a fake hand thing he puts on, which is probably what you're trying to show there. Still might be too big even considering that.

Well I meant kinda pillow shaded but looking at it now I don't think it's really a problem at all so just ignore me.  :P

Do give him a heroic and manly stance though, as he deserves.  :y:

I think the 'childish' stance is covered by the guys above so i find there's no need for me to repeat anything...
