Messing with colours (wip)

on: September 22, 2008, 04:00:21 pm
Trying to mess around with how colours work together, I'm using the NES palette (not restrictions though) I've never really worked from just a palette I usually just grab any colour I need so its fun to see what i can come up with. Also getting shading to work smoothly, I'm probably going to go back and dither a lot of it.

Update:

been working on this most of the night, heres what i've got so far.

try experimenting with an off center light, or directly overhead, even under lit for scary effect (clowns = scary)
basically anything other than this front lit source which creates "pillow shading" and will make some cry.
personally i feel i have been wrestling with some things about color.
i found "hue shifting" to be interesting and helpful.
i think i like the flesh tones you picked, but you could probably go with more drastically shifted ramps overall.
