The sprite looks like a female version of Serge from Chrono Cross  :D

Actually, it's almost finished...progress below.

Head and shoes aren't finished and I seriously don't know how I am going to do the hand...help on this would be highly apreciated.

I think the similarity between my sprite and snake's one is quite obvious (mainly because I did mine watching snake's all the time - we gotta watch good stuf ;) ), especially on the legs and torso (although I cared alot more about colour selection and unification). For this reason, I don't think that it would be legitime to submit something that was ALMOST copied from another piece (although, as you can see above, I pixeled it ALL myself).

If Steve (and all of you) don't feel bothered, I will finish this and move on to the portrait (whose sketch you can see here). If you agree with what I said above (about it being alot like snke's sprite) just say so and I'll consider this a simple practice for a further submission.

Thanks,
Filax

@seven - yes I can, I had drawn a "stance" (I'll see if I can dig it up) that was similar to this, and I asked a friend (here at home, great with art, working on a SF2 type game) to help with the sprite/s, so I gave him said stance drawing and he returned some lineart (all B&W with somments) so I edited it, and colored it. Turned out I drug this to him, and he confessed all these "awsome" sprited he was helping me with and put into his game are from that site... -.- I am so ashamed that I used him for help (the "lineart" process went back and forth a few times to clarify) *sigh* No more help from him... I'll see if I can dig up that stance and start again... -.- It was sooo nice too, well... hrm... time to start over

I must say it's just a bit odd that you managed to "edit" and "color" the "lineart" to be exactly the same as the original sprite, with only minor alterations to the palette.

Your portrait lineart looked like it could go somewhere. If you actually made that and didn't trace it from somewhere, I'm sure that with practice you'd be perfectly capable of creating your own sprites.
