I didn't change much, just made some of the.. lineart smoother.

On the head, and the foot.

Here is an edit on your shading don't use so many colors use more darker colors and ad some more darker shading into it..
like this edit.

Note: this is not a very big edit just changed some of the shading

Correction, he's using BMP, not JPG. If you are trying to get a critique, use neither. I'm not sure about GIF though, I believe it has a 256 color limit, but of course, you're not going to use that much when coloring/shading work like that.

Rudy, not to be rude, but you didn't do much, except make a couple things slightly better (eliminating pillow shading for the shoes/legs), and everything else worse.

Marc, you don't have to exclusively use black as an outline. In fact, it's actually a better practice you don't at all. Where the light source fades away you should outline it with a darker shade. Where the light source starts, use a lighter shade. Also, darker shades in color theory tends to be blueish. Don't be afraid to use a mixture of colors (ie: blueish green or yellow) for shading opposed to using strictly, say, green. This applies to all your colors, they're too straightforward to actually represent detail. Another note is not to pillow shade, like you did with the shoes and legs. You had the head going in the right direction, but you're disregarding your own light source where his hair is blocking.

The bomb he is holding is ok, but it's a bit dark. Lighten it a bit.

I would explain more, or even show you what I am talking about, but I'm lucky enough to get the time to comment. :(

Hopefully someone can show you how to shade a bit better.

I zoomed in on paint, you have a billion colors. It looks like you shrunk the pixel art next to it then tried to fix it up.
Dont try to exactly shade it like the 3d model, but the model does have a good idea on how to shape the shading for bean. Try to use it as an example a bit more.
The lineart is really bumpy, it needs to be smoothed out.
The colors on bean's shoes and ascot need to be more orange.
If you have to have a black outline, its probably not a good idea to use black outline inside the outline. Try aa'ing things like striped, or eyes, into the PA, as opposed to outlining it.

this is a small edit of what you COULD do, it's a different style i guess.
i changed the colors of the lineart.

you can see it best on his hand and shoes.

banding on the mouth really kills the performance.
I'm sure you can do better anti-aliasing than this ...

Do you come from a Sonic sprite board....? um....not to be harsh but they usually have the lowest standard of quality....so dont guide yourself with the comments you get over there.

The frame you picked to translate as a sprite is a pretty good one, it's got clear volumes and it's pretty interesting....I think you should just stick to it more firmly.

For example, look at his back...it's arching in and there's a triangle of negative space between his arm and his back...you did NOT draw that in your sprite. His hairline follows his eyelid pretty closely, almost like an eyebrow...in your sprite you finish almost halfway.

If you're new to pixelart and dont know whats Anti-Aliasing or banding and such....you should probably go to these threads
