Hi everyone, I am Studebaker_Hoch. Just started to try my hand at pixel art as a hobby and thought it would be neat to join a community of some kind to see others work and learn.
So, yeah, hi everyone

I sort of grew an aversion to all sorts of new tech coming out, and consequently now seek out classic/vintage/retro stuff as much as possible.
Welcome hANshOTtH3RD. You've come to the right place.

Also, I've become more & more interested in recent developments in the healthcare industry the past few years, as I seem to have acquired some bad luck, and various accompanying medical problems.
Me too. Had influenza B on Christmas, lasted a few weeks, then as I recovered I was diagnosed with diabetes, then a week later I got a blood clot in my leg! What happened to you, if you don't mind sharing?

I've also taken more interest in business+investing news, from my various attempts in business/efforts to build a carrier for myself. ...I've also become more aware of the international goings on. ...basically I like to watch the news!  ...and I also like pixel art! ;D
Very nice, are you following any particular organizations?

I have already released a JRPG (made with RMMV) and a Danmaku (made with Unity) on itch.
!!! do you have a link so we can see ????
Welcome aboard Frelon-K! Cheers! (What's your drink of choice?)

Its my favorite way to spend my free time, I really love this. Hope to find here new friends!! Thanks!
I too am here as a hobby. Nice to meet you Riky!  8)

I am digital marketing Expert.
:o Can you help me get exposure?

I decided to stop being afraid of failing at art and try to really learn and push myself to my limits in the hopes of making my future projects look like the games I've always loved and wanted to emulate, so I grew myself some courage and started learning art.
Pleasure to meet you Gypsy! I can respect facing your fears. This is a noble purpose.  :y:

I have used other community/forum that why I know the rules and regulation of a good forum.
Hello MS Dave, which other forums have you been apart of?

ive been pixeling for about 7 years technicly (started when i was ten making a few small rpgs).
Hello emmaoisa  ^-^ do you have any of your old artwork you want to share?????? Welcome!!

michael vicente, I'm a 3d artist for the video game industry (I work at blizzard). I also like to draw a lot, and I want to improve in pixel art. I'm trying to make an isometric side project (zombie arpg haha so original), so I'm looking forward to feedback and improve.
Hey Michael, nice to meet you. Do you have inside scoop on the new Diablo? Are they going to fix the inventory system? :p What is your side project all about?

Another interesting point is that I managed (or something managed) to unblock my creative block that I got in the lately high school period... Before that, I was writing, drawing, creating little movies, and doing pixel art and animation! God only knows what happened (something like social pressure they call it) and I got into the role of perfect student until my engineering degree. But last summer (2019) I unlocked my creativity! And ever since this time I'm drawing everyday, creating wooden sculptures or random objects, 3D printing, painting in every mediums... And now coming back to pixel art and improving my programming skills (as I learned C/C++ in quite good level in school, and a little bit Java and python)

I'm looking for any advise to help me reach my goal of being a good game developer. And also free for some work on projects if my skills fit! You can see a bit of my lately creative explosion on Instagram @palo.poli.art (I know I should go on DeviantArt, or even Twitter, but anyway this insta is just the beginning of showing myself with confidence)

Hi Thomas! I know what you're saying about unblocking creativity. I went through a period where I completely did not respect the creative process at all, thinking it was foolish compared to "real work" or so I thought. I took it way too far, in fact. I told somebody very near to me that their art sucked, which I now feel really bad about. They deleted all their art  :ouch: and it was an eye-opener for me, first at how much of a jerk I was, and second, how far I strayed from my passions in life: using the power of imagination. I've made some dumb choices and I hope I can become a better person and make up for the damage I've done. Not to mention, I'm so bad and rusty at pixel art it's not even funny! I was always kind of a wannabe anyways. I'm rambling! But anyways, what I'm trying to say is I can relate at how awesome it feels to unlock your creativity! Glad to have you aboard!

 ;D

Hi everyone !

I'm Fosox, I'm a french 18 guy (don't hesitate if I make any english error ^^') and I'm new to pixel art. I'm trying to make a game so I decided to make my own graphics, after watching many posts and videos on the subject I found this forum a few months ago but I left it aside because I'm not used to talking on forums...

However, now that I really want to progress and practice I need feedbacks and so here I'm !! See you soon !

Heyo!  :)

I'm Nexty, and I suppose I have been trying to make sprites ever since MSPaint was still a thing. I have since moved on to Aseprite, and I came here hoping to get some help from the best, or at least those with the most experience.

My greatest influence in spriting is Treasure.

Welcome hANshOTtH3RD. You've come to the right place....

Rydin, sorry to hear about the bad turn of health! It is no fun! I can relate...it's actually sort of a long story, although I guess the worst part for me is my busted finger of 3+ years now. I also have some old injuries to my other hand and arm going back to college, grade-school, and all the way to when I was very small, although those injuries didn't really affected my typing(which i have come to love & rely on so much)...then there's my snake-bit, then broken foot from 5+ years ago, so i'm sort of invalid for a few years now...and then at my last podiatrist visit(~2 years ago) she spread my toenail fungus problem I'd had since childhood(now looking for new podiatrists). But about my busted finger, it's kind of a shame but it's in large part due to the poor/unnecessary treatments done on it after the original injury, and also the fact that now it seams impossible to find a surgeon to fix it. ..also I was uninsured for about 2 years, during which time I learned about how much a scam health-insurance-industry(& the healthcare-system in general) is in America.

...and then there's the whole issue that my family doesn't understand why I don't have a job, and am not living on my own, even though I've been doing a lot of work around their farm. and then there's the whole accusations about I must have some sort of mental illness because I let my life get so bad, but really it's my elderly parents' inability to keep things maintained and working, and my brothers' lack of recognition of the problem. so basically they just keep getting confused and screwing things up, and blaming it all on me, and then they call the cops on me, and I go away for awhile, for basically only expressing the fact that I've been mistreated. Turns out it's very easy to do, but it baffles my mind why they do it.

...so now I got this legal+psychiatric bullshit looming over me...and limited resources; although I've got enough money to play around a little with my investment account(and i recently got a small raise+health-benefits from my dad), but it's really not enough for me to go be independent, especially given my current health limitations. I guess at this point I'm just hoping I can find someone to help me with my finger(although I'm not really optimistic), and then I could get back to programming, and have some income to move out on my own, and maybe get some of my other problems looked at.

3 years ago my brother got me into the scammy crypto scene. I rode the 2017-2018 crypto-bubble up & down. fortunately it was not worse, and I got most of my money back out. at the time I was also betting some in semiconductors(& nvidia) although my timing ended up all wrong and at this point I've sort of stepped back from individual stock-picks...though I'm still interested in computers and tinkering...

...I tried to capitalize on the the 2018-2019 stockmarket dip although I didn't really follow through(...it takes time to research this stuff incase you didn't know). And then I just went through some bullshit with my parent's again in February right before the pandemic really exploded everywhere, and then that was so nuts, and i ended up getting sidetracked by some more urgent stuff, so I'm just now getting around to looking at finances again. Now I'm realizing a lot of my investments still include junk like FAANG, and Tesla(none of which I really believe in or want to associate myself with). Actually today I bought some small-caps... I'm thinking i might pivot to international(-alibaba) and small/micro-cap etf ...and maybe over time try to identify some favorite individual picks.

I hope you are pleased with my more thorough introduction!  (⊙_ʘ)?

... !\(↼‿ఠ)/

...while I'm giving you my life story, I think I should say that I was hospitalized ~7.5 years ago, and did take anti-spychotics off-&-on for about a year. While I think it was probably good to have an intervention at the time, I still sort of have a problem with the way it was done, and the whole process really left me with more questions than answers...I really wish our modern society made more sense... <( ͡ ʖ̯ ͡)v⌐□-□

Oh look, a new user has appeared.

Long time pixel artist with no ability to draw on demand. I draw for fun, and look forward to sharing my work with you all.

About three years ago I made the decision to return to pixel art after a long hiatus. It took me those 3 years (2017-2020) to finish 1 piece because, well.... LIFE and procrastination.

Thanks to COVID I have had plenty of time to sit on a computer and draw, so I will share the fruits of my limited creativity -- and ability -- with this seemingly declining medium in the hopes that it might inject a little bit of life.

Cheers folks,
