Pixel Art Poster

on: December 28, 2005, 09:18:57 pm
Hey people, I gather some images of some of my favorit pixel artists and made a poster out of it. this is the first print. not sure if it's going to stay like this.

this is for personal use only, not going to make money out of this
so, dont be alarmed.
hope also no one is offended, and see if you can tell which are which

there are 2 sprites you might not know because thoes are two personal friends how dont frequent this forum.

:)

take care,

Kazuya Mochu

Let's see if I can recognize some of them.

The first should be Kon. #2 is MadToaster. #3 I don't know but #4 should be gunstar_red. #5 I can't tell what it is really, and I think nvision made #6. #7 is by DerekDoctors . #8 I think is either by Wolverine or that other guy called SonicAngel or something. #9 and #10 I'm not sure if I've seen, but #11 is ndeal. #12 is by Cheops, the motive is his girlfriend Tisha. #13 I can't tell who made either, but #14 is St0ven. #15 looks perhaps like the veggie by what's his name, BlackHawk or BlackEye or something. #16 I think I've seen, Dustin? #14 I think I have seen before, and the last one, but dunno who made them. Other than that I recognize Helms portrait, and the one to the right of it looks like something from the FFTA commercial critique challenge.

How big is the poster, and how sharp? I don't think you need me to tell you that the image you posted is blurry as crap.

EDIT: You might have understood my question. How sharp is the picture to you, in reality? No need to change the picture you uploaded whatsoever.

Original poster is A3
the resolution is crap cause it's a webcam capture
I dont want to put in better quality, cause some of the artist might be pissed off

What no art from the Merc?  No prob I don’t do anything anyway. :)
Although I would defiantly like that poster, any chance you could snail me a print?  My room is rather bland and need something to cover the walls other than video games and snowboarding posters.  If I cover up the whole wall by February I don’t have to paint it!  And besides no one in my side of New Jersey like pixel art.  They find it old and useless.

Did you have it done by a graphics company or something? Because as far as I know, since printers spray in dots, wouldn't pixels come out all blurry and stuff?

this one is eventually comuing down from the wall, cause I forgot to put pToing's sprite there!! :\

as for the artists:

Kon, MadToaster, Sals, TinyGiant and SplatPixel
Kenneth Fejer, DrDerekDoctors, OMGfossil, KimsDad, PandaGuy, Ndeal
Keops, patato, Stoven, blackeye, me (heheh, I am one of my favorit artists!) and Foogirl
Lief, Helm and Zoggles,
bottom line will be ptoing and Moonsom2D

these are both favorite artists/sprite, plus some are good friends.

as for the imagens. Pixels dont blur by printing them, the stress is that the program I used (freehand) automaticaly smoothes them out. Maybe I should try photoshop. it's a A3 print. only the artwork is pixel, the rest is all vector

I still would like to add the names of the artists, plus some sort of decorations

gotta test out a bit

take care,

Kazuya

I made a big Pixelation poster a while back.  I had no blurring problems with Photoshop.

so, I've gathered some more artists,I'll come up with a better poster in a few days :D

I remember the old pixelation poster someone had made, it had a plethora of great artists on it.  Should my memory serve me well, I remember the composition of the other not being as nice as this one.  Very Gunstar-esque.  Scubapproved(tm)

Think that's the one that had my Robin Hood sprites on it in the corner somewhere.

Same here. I can't see anything either. I mentioned this in another thread. Not even a URL. It's just a blank space. Both in FireFox and IE.

[edit] And when I quote to get the URL and paste it, it says http://www.kazuya.gamedev-pt.net can't be found. [/edit]

Wow that's such a nice idea to make our own poster! :D (I'll steal it if you don't mind hehe)

I'm also quite flattered to see you used a piece of mine there wow. I know you're also a good friend of Tisha so it makes perfect sense to me but I'm still honored to see something of mine in print :3 Thanks for sharing this Kaz it's very nice!

Ciao.

Since it appears that I am the only one still able to see the poster, I took the liberty of saving and re-hosting it (I hope that's ok, Kazuya; if not, just tell me and I'll get rid of it)

It's very nice looking; I may make something like that to spice up my walls, since they are currently rather bland.
