new here

on: August 19, 2008, 07:48:43 pm
Been reading posts re;pixelation.
I'm not sure I should be here....It is all geared to gaming I guess,of which I am not into.
I do dabble in pixel art and animation (plain vanilla) using Photoimpact xl and Gif        Animator5.5
I'll post one and you tell me if I'm out of place here.

No man, this is the place ;D. Also it does not matter if your sprites are geared towards gaming.

Well I'm not sure if the water was self pixeled or generated.
Looks good but I'm not digging the green, but of couse thats a matter of personal opinon.
The swimer is distorted, mostly just his legs.
Also the girl is being overlapped by the outlines of the blocks.
I do dig the slide, looks great.
The beach ball could use more improvement.

He gets a whole new body when he starts to swim, man that must be an intense workout
Also, the water is higher in some places, which looks wrong when the water isn't animated.

As Emtch said, the proportions of the body ( size of head vs body ) are totally different when swimming, but in addition to that, his proportions seem to change also when he stands next to the ramp. When sitting on the ramp, his legs seem to bend from a place where legs shouldn't bend. Also, maybe he should shut his mouth and close his eyes while under water. Having the same facial expression all the time is a bit creepy. And.. all of the characters are lighted from a completely different direction.

Your characters looks strangely close to the characters of the famous (out there) korean social network cyworld

Moreover this swimming-pool reminds me something

Weren't you a bit, inspired ?

hahaha I love it! It's hilarious the sliding down to into the water animation !:D I love it...

really nice man!, but you should really make some nice fluid animation when he gets up to the surface.
