Hey guys, i figured i should post here, since i havent done pixel art in ages, and this is the first in a long time.
Im not looking for extensive critique, since i dont have much time this week to change stuff up, (but when i do get a chance, ill prolly will edit), but some comments and thoughts will be nice  ::).
More than anything, im just sharing.

Too much movement in the idle pose or its just too fast, cuz he looks like he's hyperventilating. The portraits remind me of Commander Keen a little bit. Good work..

Cute style and quite nice colours.

I agree on the animation being a bit overdone, also the distance between shoulder and hand does not change. It looks like the arm grows and sags down.
There are no ugly colours, only ugly combinations of colours.

Interesting, I just got finished playing Cave Story... Well, the only yhing I have to say is the idle pose has to much movement, but this has been said before.

Oh, forgot to mention, its supossed to emulate Xion´s animating style of Naija, a bit "exagerated" (in a good way tho), kinda like what goes on with the mslug sprites i think.

Cute as possible. Though i have to join previous guys on the fact that the animation is not very convincing (though wonderfully performed). Maybe making him more "dance" from one feet and the other, or just use that "hyperventilating" cycle a couple of time (as transition after a run) and then move to something a bit more relaxed, looking around, checking his gun or whatever.

Awesome sprite.

I must also join the chorus about the idle stance. It seems a bit like he has to strain and work really hard in order to keep that movement up, so it doesn't seem as relaxed and casual as the idle animations in the examples you showed.
