Greatings!

on: August 27, 2008, 10:57:49 am
Hi, I just got into pixel art recently, and I would like to know what you guys think.
I thought it would be fun to do a friend in an 8-bit style.

How did I do for a first time? Any advice would be appreciated!

By the way, would anyone know how to get the pic to display at 400% would they? I like the pixelated look at that size.

It's very simple, the forum has a built in zoom function. Just click on it a few times.
The linework's sloppy. I like it though. And the shading needs more contrast, it's barelly visible now.
This can use alot of work but for your first this certainly ain't bad!

Hmm, It seems to get bury as I blow it up. Is there a way to save it with the large square pixels?
Also, what exactly to you mean by sloppy linework. What can I do to fix it?
And for the shading, should I go with something with the same tint, just less saturated?
Thanks for all the help!  ;D

Ah, I'm afraid the blurry thing is caused by Firefox 3. Firefox 2 and all the other browsers shouldn't have this.
I made an edit to show you some of my points: (Which happens to be my 100th edit, heh)

As you see I made the shadows far more prominent, and I cleaned up some of the lines but not all since it's rather time consuming.
And a small area also demonstrates what I mean. (In this case the left side of the face, our left)
I also showed it next to the face with an x and a v :D.
