hey, welcome to the boards! There are lots of things you can do to improve your wolf monster head:
1 - DO NOT MIRROR. Choose an interesting pose and angle, and render your shape!
2 - Pick a light source! Pillow shading bad, painting with light and shadow good!
3 - Get rid of the banding!
4 - Paint actual hair, not scribbly little lines! See buloght's work for awesome monster hair.
5 - Add a background and a neck!
That said, even in this rough and unlit state there is something compelling about this image. Please give it more love!
