Hello!
I don't know about the background, though. It looks a little boring, is that sand or the sky?

I guess It doesn't matter to much since it's only a banner and signature.

The banner would definatley look better if it was animated (maybe some wind? the mans cape? A scoripon?).

Also it seems as you mirrored one of the images, Not a problem, but the shadings become messed up. I'm not sure, but maybe this works if the light source (the sun) is coming directly from above.

Oh, and the shield. Are you planning to draw some sigiill or guild emblem? That would look better.

Keep up the good work.  :hehe:

I think the upper one puts the shield in focus. also about shadows, say if the sun is behind the shield, the shadow would be in the first image. The sky though maybe could be changed a bit, if the sun is behind the shield the colours would be more like circles and not as you have done it. I think it nice though, do some polishing and add a cool emblem and it rocks!

I think the second one is bad if you look at composition, the sky break the composition. and you really don't have any good composition at all as we can see in the first one, where all is made to focus on the emblem which is the main thing in the picture right?

Good work! :)

PS. look out for not have the same colours inside the emblem as outside the emblem, the emblem must stick out and not melt into the background, also I don't know but the colours may not be the best, but I think there are plenty of better artist to help you with that part.

INCOMING HARSH CRITIQUE.  Put on your welding mask or whatever!  All the usual beginner crits apply here:

> Don't use straight ramps
> Don't work at such ridiculously huge sizes
> Work on overall value and composition
> Study anatomy
> Study landscapes
> Work on basic volumes and lighting, don't pillowshade
> Major pervasive contrast issues on the figure

Finally, I realize this is like a drawing of his/her in-game character or whatever, but its insanely bad character design.

Please trust that I say these things with the most urgent desire that you improve as an artist and accordingly improve this piece as a work of art!  It has major pervasive problems, and if Pixelation serves any purpose as a critique board, it is to deliver a fair but occasionally harsh assessment of the work posted by those brave enough to endure it.  Best of luck, and I look forward to seeing drastic improvements!
