Alien walking animation (grey)

on: April 09, 2008, 03:47:02 am
Hey guys,

This is my old stomping ground but haven't been on in about a year  :(.  I could lose so many hours just staring at art on here.  Anyway, my latest foray has been into the animation world. I'm not very strong at animation as a matter of fact this is like my 2nd or third walking character ever.

I need some help with this guy, I know I'm missing some key frames but not sure what they should be  ???. I tried to make his whole body get into the walk but as I said, I'm new at this. Crits and help appreciated.  I have to have this guy done by Saturday so hopefully I'll get some input before then. Thanks a lot everyone!  ;D

well for starters yes, add some more frames, look at how a human would walk as this character is humanoid, a human walks by lifting his knees and placing a foot forwards, bending his other foot and when the other one is one the ground lifting this one and preforming the same action so attempt to recreate this in your image by adding some transition frames between each leg being forward
It's time for racing car video games

I guess I'm confused about how to make it look like he is picking up his feet from a front perspective. Side would be much easier. I'm going to study some examples and see if I can't figure it out.

Thanks,

Ian

EDIT: let me know of any references you have, I am having trouble finding them for front walking.
