The texture is good, but perhaps the colours are a bit strong for a background tile. You might lose the clarity of foreground objects over that. Also, it doesn't tile very well, giving a rather non-brick-like pattern. For a brickwork pattern, you really need an even number of rows, so that the bricks can each be off-set by half a brick on each row, and so that the bottom row has the same offset when next to the top row of the tile below it. 3 rows will lead to a non-conventional pattern. The half-brick you have there (while nice) also ends up sticking out a bit as an obviously repeating pattern.

It's a good start though.. keep it up.
