Let me show you my pokemans

on: December 19, 2007, 11:32:14 pm
they look more like Megaten stuff, but "let me show you my demonic atrocities/personas" doesn't have the same ring.

The crotch area is bugging me so much on this guy. ><

The dress on this one....

and the legs on this one need fixing.

thank you!

Your shading and lighting isn't very effective at the moment--there's really no definition of mass at all, and it makes everything look flat.  I suggest upping the contrast between values in your highlights and shadows.  Also, more distinct and shapes and forms would really help the believability and readability.  Those are the major things I guess.

The legs were stubby and lacked definition so I played around with them, alas, I didn't manage very well.

Complete desaturated gray never looks good, seriously. only looks good when the artist really knows what he/she is doing, so I changed it (it taking up so much space made the piece very artificial-looking)

The colours had no relation to each other, so I made the shadows blue, which would suggest that the ambient lighting in the area is the same.

Anyways, this is a very lazy edit, holler if need more help.

Edit: Oh, and my edits are never an attempt to show how the final result should be like, but to offer a first step to an improvement that I'd like to see. (:

So disregard the broken outlines and complete lack of polish.

It can in places if the artist knows what he/she is doing.
There are no ugly colours, only ugly combinations of colours.
