De Blob Sprites

on: December 13, 2007, 12:46:41 am
Here are some sprites for a 2D mockup of De Blob (freeware game and incoming Wii title).  I'll submit the mockup as soon as it looks good enough.

C&C always welcome!

the first two are ok, but what are the seconds ones even supposed to be? just looks like pillow shading in a tear drop shape. I don't know what to say about the second two unless I knew what they were.
The first two seem to be suffering from different perspectives.

THE BIG RED GUY:
Seems he is portrayed from a higher point of view than the others.
You might want to move the light from the left to the front, this way some parts are too dark. Mouth color doesn't make sense and is too similar to the highlight color.

THE BLACK GUY:
I see nothing wrong with him. He's tops!

THE TWO OTHER GUYS:
Not really sure what they are supposed to be? Are they glowing? If so, then the shadow makes no sense. How will they look on a background other than white?
Maybe turn the hands upwards to make them more defined against the body.

Hope this helps.

The first guy is supposed to be bigger than the others.

The last two look kind of weak, but I got them from the game.  They are little alien people of different color that change your color, so you can paint the town.

The game is in 3D, but here is a link, so you can check it out http://binnenstad.hku.nl/Release/The%20Blob%20(English).exe
