I'm remaking the old Windows game Castle of the Winds.

Here's the animation:

I think selout's too strong. And the darker purple too saturated. I love CotW. Hope the remake gets done.

Thanks for the crits. Yeah, the selout might overwhelm a bit, but I'm too lazy to try different outlines to see what works best. It had full outline and I went back to selout because of shape issues. And I have been known to use saturated purples :). I'll try to bring it down a notch, see what it gives.

And if you like a remake, you could perhaps add some sprites to the project once I get sufficiently far enough to add content. Maybe I'll show some more pictures to be remade here, like all the monsters...

Oh, and the wonky way of holding weapons is just because of nostalgy :D

EDIT:

Updates!

And with weapons it would look like this (again, the wonky way of holding weapons is nostalgy):

Sweet. I loved that game as well. You might want darker darks on the guy, the sel-out still looks pretty harsh. It might help to lighten it up on the shoulders. Walking animation looks fine so far. I'd be willing to pitch in a few sprites if you ever need some help finishing it.

Please do show more!

You're right pawige, now that the purple is darker, other parts need to get darker too, I'll work on it.

Oh, and if the programming gets off the ground I'll be sure to mention it and maybe we can collab on the other sprites :).

EDIT: Update!

Great work there Gil. I hope it will be the greatest remake of Castle of the Winds :D. The pixels look great.
