Ok, so I am at a wall with this piece. Are the color's looking good? How does it look? Please rip it apart. I am thinking of creating a set of sprites for a platformer or adventure game with this character.

He is Fone Bone, from the comic book series Bone by Jeff Smith.

i would try messing around with shading him using some color.

i wouldn't mind seeing light ply slightly on the outlines, and them being integrated a bit more.  A bit more use of that brown-orange would be nice.

infinity+1 : what do you mean?  the character is straight gray, and this uses some partly saturated tones despite.  I'm a fan of color too, but i dont know if this needs it.

I hope I'm not resurrecting a dead thread.   

If you look at it zoomed out it seems to be a 5 color piece, and the AA is a bit arbitrary, and so sometimes is emphasizing things like outlines.  It might actually help to drop it down to five (bg, shadow, outline, light and dark), getting that solid and then build up the color count where needed.  The darker color shading is better, but it makes the reflected light area on his head really stand out.  Reflected light areas are still much darker than the light areas, so I'd suggest using a midtone or getting rid of it entirely.

He looks just like he does in the books, keep it up, I'd like to see more.
