Some Rubik's Cube Animation

on: November 13, 2007, 08:39:56 pm
Well I just though of this last night, and got the bases finished. I plan on adding 2 more frames for each swivel. And eventually when I have enough things made, I'll attempt a real solve animated. And the great part is I can solve one in real life, which helps incredibly.

Current Colors: 9
Frames: 16

So help critique.

It goes a but fast, and needs shading.

I plan on doing that after I get a few more frames done.

It would immensely help the motion of the swivels if you had an extra two frames at 1/3 and 2/3 of the rotation.
Actually, you could just have those frames and get rid of the halfway frame altogether, if you wanted.

I plan on adding those. But I'll keep the middle frames, just because they're done already.

I know, It's kind of too plain for that. But I've done some already.

I dissagree. It's shiny, it has a lightsource, the blocks are beveled (or perhaps the better word would be er.. chamferred? I dunno lol).  :y:

You could do alot, if spend the the time on it. At least enough to say it has significant shading.

I'll post a few examples of shading later, and see which is best to continue with.

For whichever reason, your starting frame has a different blue color than the rest of the frames of this animation.
