Perspective in Pixel art

on: September 24, 2020, 11:09:18 am
When concentrating on buildings and especially 1bit shops (for some reasons there are many shops in 1bit pixel art) I have some troubles with perspectives.

I am not an artist and never took drawing lessons. But when I study pixel art it always seems that 1 bit pixel buildings do not follow the rules of perspective and while mostly viewed from the corner of the building only have horizontal lines. Perspective is given with shadows and gradients.

Why is this?
