Chibby "me" with a guitar

on: November 21, 2005, 04:28:06 am
this is me in a chibby version with a guitar. I did it after making a drawing for a friend of mine, in which I was singing her some songs. I totaly forgot I had this on my computer, and allready in an advanced stage. so I finished it!

hope you like it!

hum, on a second look, I look like I got an evil eye... gotta check that!

take care,

Kazuya

It looks more like a child than a chibi. (Although I must say, for a kid you've got some muscly looking arms.) Very nice, but some parts seem a bit unfinished to me. (face, upper arm, and bottom of the shoe stand out to me.) Aside from that, really good. Of course, such is expected of you, Kazuya.

yeah, maybe chibby was a bad label.

the arm hey?... hum... yeah it's kind of thick...
for the sole of the shoe, I did try a diagonal pattern, but due to the small size, it came out a bit dithered! :)

That's awesome kazuya! The sprite reminds me of the good old days in Pixelation's chibi challenge.

hey, it's got something strangely appealing about it, must be the constant hues...the homely pose, the use of perspective in a single character and the chibified but a bit childlike look with that unique head shape that make it look special.

I think the highlight on the guitar is a bit too gray to work though, it needs atleast some blending, dont really know how to make it work though

Are the glasses supposed to be subtle? I didnt notice em until the zoom.

new arm has also an strangely short forearm, not even perspective could do that

I'm still not happy with the arm too. the gray on the guitar... well I was saving up colors... I gess I can add another one...
also I have rim-less glasses. so...

I'll give it another shot!!!

thanks for the kind comments!

Hey Kaz, loving this piece. I think the guitar llost it's feel with the colour change. As Camas said about the for arm. I dont think it looked as bad on the first post but now it looks too short, also the sort of elbow that was in the first post has gone which also adds to the arm looking too short. Apart from that and what has been said i think this has great character and is a wonderul piece.

Thanks,

Dan

The guitar's highlight is grey heh. It looks fine though, no need for any improvements.
