There's not much that can be said at this point. Once you actually have something that resembles pixel art, it can be treated as such. Before you start detailing this clean up the treads on the bottom and the laces on the top and even them out. Those areas look sloppily done compared to the rest.

Please keep in mind it isn't really pixel art. Clean the lines up and then we start helping you out. only thing I can criticize right now it the sole of the shoe, these a machine made. uniform and very even. Clean the lines up more from more help.

Okay. I edited some stuff.

WHATS NEW:
Now the lines on the bottom of the shoe are cleared up,
Only 1 pixel wide.
I gave it a quick recoloring, and added a color scheme.

Heres my refrence pic:

:lala: 6 colors for just a sole wchich is black/gray. I'm not an expert here but thats too much in my opinion, and it's even more useless to use so many colors because my eye can count only 4 including lineart.

But some of them ar too similar, and it won't make diffrence wchich one you use so remove some of them and eventually use some adjustments on what's left. I may be not an expert as I said before but I know, that color limitations make every place in palette precious.

I geuss you are right...

But I want the shading to be realistic, you know?

EDIT:

WHATS NEW:
As you can see, more stuff is colored and shaded.
More lines are 1 pixel wide.

hmm did you trace the line art? I would definitely try using some more interesting shading.. just because it looks black, doesn't mean the color has to be black.. or dark gray, in this case.

Well I compared and he did trace the lineart more or less.. but I guess thats no big deal, good luck with this !

I must say I hate the angle of the shoe you chose.. Its really boring, I like more intresting and unique angles when doing something like this.. just an advice for the future incase you dont need exacly from the side..

Well, you caught me  Yeah, I did trace. I'm still a noob at pixel art, so that's why I picked an easy angle.

I still do need help with the shading.

EDIT:

WHATS NEW:
More colored stuff
Cleaner lineart

I'll finish up the shading and light source when I'm done coloring.

This would be an excellent time to find a good tutorial on anti-aliasing...And this is an excellent piece to practice it on given the number of curves and lines that don't present a clean pixel line...

I think it's too big to be anything real good.

Plus, being an Air Force One, it should be white.  :P

I've seen green and blue, red and yellow, orange and black, white and white, but this color really appealed to me on an AF1.

I think it's too big

I strongly agree.

comradvolk, you've kept it the same size when pixelling as the reference image. Why? It would be much easier for you (and us) if you make it much smaller so you can concentrate on using each pixel effectively in order to create what you're looking for. Good luck with your piece.  :y:

actually smaller pieces (but not too small) are better practise for artists new to pixel art, they force you to consider the worth of the single pixel. Bigger pieces can become an excercise in manual AA and foremost patience, but not much more.

Since you're using basically one color throughout the entire shoe, make sure you add some highlights along with that shading you plan on doing.
