No ideas for cutes monstars

hi everyone !

I was borred and i saw in PJ, this piece

I was a lot inspired by this so I decided to do something similar (not too much )



I've done 6 monsters for moment, but I want it to be a big/huge piece (a little like this)
But I've no ideas for others (cutes) monster...

1st is a ghost
2nd and 3rd are "blobs" (grass and fire)
4th is a lil' yellow demon
5th is an octopus bull soldier
6th is the octopus bull king

I don't want things like goblins, zombie and all the classical stuff...
If someone wants to help me, you're welcome !

the fire 'blob' don't look ltoo much like fire I'm afraid.


try pushing the color a bit more so it's vivid bright reds, oranges, yellows, (and blues for the cooler part of the flame) - and don't have it shaded as thought the light is from the front... IT IS THE LIGHT!

AS far as inspiration is cponcerned... well... have a look through THIS and get some inspiration

... the bits at the tips, of each flame I turn towards a bluey tinge... if that's the hottest part I dunno... generally I don't go putting my hand in fire to find out.

yellow : very very hot
blue : very very very hot
green : very very very very hot

Also I've made the "blobs" more slimey and 2 new characters arrived (white is a ice dude with a scarff and the green is a kappa (yokai) :

Fire color depends on material, don't it?
Magnesium burns super bright white, don't it? And I know there's a chemical that burns purple or something.
But yes, usually blue is a super-hot part of a fire, but I don't think you'd want to use it for the blob.

Frost, these are pretty cute. I think the slime looks better but the fire slime's symbol on his forehead still looks like a stick. I think most of his body should be covered in fire. Also the bull king should be a bit more bigger or at least more noble instead of a palette switch with a different hat.

Yes but if all of his body is covered in fire, we don't see that is a slime, I want a blob, not a flame

Yah...You're right but when I did this i don't wanted to remake it completly and blah blah...Yes you're right I am lazy. but I like it as he is now, A little king with a BIG crown. he looks little, ridiculous and frail but he has the power of the king you see ?

A few colors changed, mainly red, and I made the Jellys more Jelly.
Plus, the Kappa's mothafuckin' gangsta now.
Mostly, I think you need to brighten up the red on the jelly, particularly the crest. And to make it more firey without losing its gelatin appearance, you can hueshift the red to yellow.

sorry but I only like that you did on the grass slime, and also on the fire one, but ou made the red brighter and now the red bull octopus hurts my eyes 

That edit helped me for the blobs reflects, I've not the time to modifie mine now :/ Tomorrow I'll work on it, thanks

Yup, that's actually backwards of how physics says.

Magnesium definitely burns super bright white. It doesn't make a white flame though, just a really bright white burningness. I really want to see a purple flame, that would be cool..
I only know that copper turns flames green.

I like Sherman's edits to the jellies. I think the brighter red works really well for the fire one, but I agree with you Frost... the octopus one is too red now.

Alot of it depends on the chemical being burned. There are many salts that burn various greens and purples just because they have a certain energy. For the sake of flames though, the left of the spectrum is the coldest, and the right is the hottest.

whoa i inspired someone. Neat.  Cute little guys you got here, pixel tech is nice.  My fav is the skeleton ghost. I like the palette update, keep em coming

As far as heat of a flame goes. Itīs way easier to pass your hand through the flame of a candle than over it, really close to the top.

The flower is a grass boss, with eyes and a beak on the base, yes a flower can have two heads (but only one brain. This one's is in the base)

The white/yellow character is an electric panda !

The flower's stem is a bit dark and undetailed in my opinion; try using some of the brighter colors from the grass blob and add some highlights running up the front/middle of the stem to make it look rounder.

  Just something to try.
